This woody bar has the same investment banker look-alike clientele and beer selection as every other Irish-tinged sports bar on this strip of Southport, but a few curiosities remain. The sepia-toned photos of the bar's namesake, circa early 20th century, posing victorious in a wide variety of sports (conquering a steep mountainside on skis; winning an auto race) is puzzlingly humorous, while the large aquarium behind the bar—full of water and coral, yet entirely fish-free—is just plain puzzling.
