The lobby on the second floor of the Chicago Athletic Association is not only a good place to hang out and wait before you head to Cindy's or the Game Room–it's also a great place to grab a drink. There's snacks, like a fruit board for breakfast or a lobster roll for lunch, cocktails, wine and beer. So feel free to hang out and enjoy the fireplaces before heading to the other bars that Chicago Athletic Association has to offer.

By far, my absolute favorite place to hang out in Chicago. The architecture is incredible and the fireplaces make this space so cozy during those rough Chicago winters. The drinks are delicious and strong and it's easy to lose hours just sitting here reading, hanging out with a group of friends or people watching. The drawing room feels sophisticated yet comfortable and welcoming and also reminds me of a Hogwarts common room. As someone who has a passion for historic preservation and Chicago history I am so happy the building was restored and kept so much of its original design. The building has an interesting and colorful history and is a gem people can now enjoy again.

This is what I imagine life would have been like if we all had lived at Downton Abbey. The Drawing Room is cozy and the perfect spot to settle in next to the fire on a cold winter's night. At Christmastime, the hotel goes all out with beautiful decorations making the space even more quaint than usual.

The Drawing Room is a gorgeous spot in the Chicago Athletic Association where you can have drinks and cozy up by the fire. You'll find old books scattered among the many coffee tables, too, if you're looking for a little light reading.

Who doesn't like a cozy fireplace over the winter? This spot in the Chicago Athletic Association Hotel is a great place to hole up with a date over drinks among lovingly restored woodwork adorning the interior. And no, this isn't the former Drawing Room on Rush Ave that closed—it's completely new.
