The plethora of televisions tuned to ESPN here–not to mention the fratty attitude of the staff–would suggest that this is just another vanilla sports bar. And yet, with rust-colored tin and sleek blonde wood covering every surface, the place is so gorgeous it cancels out any annoying Cubs-fan behavior. (And if it doesn't, a respectable lineup of draft beer can lend a hand.)

I went to the Pony for the first time on St. Patrick's Day and it was a mistake. Obviously it was packed, so eating was impossible since there was nowhere to sit. They had a lot of spots reserved for UK alum which I get, but a lot of them seemed empty throughout the night... seemed a little pointless. It took forever to get a drink, so I'm excited to go back when it's not a shit show holiday. Beer was cheap, which is always a plus.
