On September 26, Smithsonian Magazine will celebrate its 11th annual Museum Day Live! by offering free entry to more than 1,300 museums nationwide, 15 of which are in Chicago. The city offers a ton of free museum days throughout the year, but seldom does one have the opportunity to have free access to so many cultural institutions across town in a single day. The day will honor the Smithsonian Museum in Washington, D.C., which offers free admission year-round.

To attend, you just have to RSVP for a free ticket on the event's website. Check out the list of the 15 participating Chicago museums below and start planning your day of free knowledge.
