Summer in the Chicago has finally arrived. Get ready for movies in the park, lazy beach afternoons, patio cocktails and...tech events? Yes, tech events. Summer is ripe for networking and the tech industry is booming with meet ups, workshops, panels and the like for techies, wannabe techies and tech industry observers. Want to learn to code? Want to meet startups? Want to talk about diversity in tech? There’s something for everyone.

A Conversation with Women Leaders of Coding Schools and AcceleratorsHear from senior instructors, educators and business developers from The Startup Institute, Dev Bootcamp, i.c.stars and The Mobile Makers Academy. Civic Hack Day at Adler PlanetariumCelebrate National Day of Civic Hacking at the Adler Planetarium with a free hackathon that welcomes both “hackers” (people who can code, even a little bit) and “problem owners” (people who have ideas about how technology can solve civic problems). Adler Planetarium, 1300 S Lake Shore Drive. Music Hack by Monkey Bars and the People’s School of Music: Bring music and technology together in this one-day hackathon hosted at Braintree. Girl Develop It: Mentor Me with Ruby!Are you new to coding? Thinking about getting started? Dabbling on your own and in need of a second set of eyes?
