Finding an apartment in Chicago is no easy task, and finding one that is perfect for you is even more difficult. Luckily, we're here to help you out when looking for your next dream pad. For a lot of renters, being next to public transportation is key. For others, plenty of space is a top priority. But for those who really want to be able to enjoy amazing views year-round and have access to some of the city's best recreation during the summer, living close to the lake is a necessity.

With that in mind, here are seven amazing Chicago apartments that are just a stone's throw away from Lake Michigan.

2800 N Lake Shore Drive, #3614 — $1,800/month

This one-bedroom apartment has a 36th-floor view of the skyline and lake. It's a quick walk from Diversey Harbor, as well as all of the fun things to do in Lincoln Park and Lakeview.

1350/1360 N Lake Shore Drive — $1,600/month

The two-building complex at 1350 and 1360 N Lake Shore Drive is ideal for any young Chicagoan who's trying to get the most out of the city. It's close to all of the great things happening in River North and Old Town, but tucked next to the lake away from all of the ruckus if you want a quiet night in. Plus, look at that rooftop view.

1717 S Prairie Ave, #1509 — $1,520/month

In case you weren't aware, the South Loop is hot right now. The Cermak-McCormick Place Green Line stop opened earlier this year, the restaurant scene is booming, yet rents are still affordable. This one-bedroom spot is right next to the Museum Campus, Northernly Island, Burnham Harbor and much, much more.

7625 N Eastlake Terrace, #102 — $1,900/month

This Rogers Park apartment literally has a beach in its backyard. While it might be situated on the far North Side of the city, the two bedroom place is incredibly spacious and sits nearby some of the coolest things to do in the neighborhood. The kicker: a fantastic balcony.

420 W Aldine Ave — $1,200/month

Living in Lakeview is sweet, but living right next to the lake in the North Side neighborhood is even sweeter. This one-bedroom apartment doesn't have an amazing view of the water, but it makes up for it with its close proximity to Belmont Harbor and Boystown.

1940 N Lincoln Ave — $1,035/month

You won't find a better deal in this area of Lincoln Park. This apartment is super close to the zoo, the Chicago History Museum and tons of restaurants and bars. If that doesn't inspire you, then the rooftop view certainly will.

850 N Lake Shore Drive — $1,993/month

This studio apartment is simply spectacular. Situated on the border between the Gold Coast and Streeterville, this place boasts amazing views of the lake and amenities that could make anyone feel like royalty.
