Tickets to the Grateful Dead's 50th anniversary "Fare The Well" shows in Chicago have been harder to obtain than a table for brunch at noon. This week, dreadlocked aficionados of the geriatric jam band will have another chance at scoring tickets to one of three shows at Soldier Field over Fourth of July weekend. Another round of tickets to the shows will go on sale on Friday at 11am CST; the sale will occur exclusively online. There will be a two ticket limit per show, but history shows us that online scalpers are great at finding a way around such a restriction.

The Chicago concerts have been advertised as the last shows that original Grateful Dead members Phil Lesh, Mickey Hart, Bill Kreutzmann and Bob Weir will play together. Trey Anastasio of Phish will fill in for the late Jerry Garcia.

Tickets to the shows sold out almost instantly when they went on sale in January, and resale prices on StubHub soared to upwards of $14,000. In April, the Dead announced another pair of shows in Santa Clara, California on June 27 and 28, causing a good deal of uproar among fans who traded an arm and a leg for tickets to the Chicago shows.

There's still hope, Dead Heads, so don't cancel your order for that nitrous tank just yet.
