Were you a cheerleader in high school? Did you wish you were? It’s not too late to join the pep squad of your dreams. The Chicago Spirit Brigade, the all-volunteer adult cheerleading, dance and drill team that performs at events like Andersonville Midsommarfest and the Chicago Pride Parade to raise funds for worthy causes, is holding open auditions for new performing members.

To audition, you must be 21 or older and willing to commit to weekly practices year-round. An initial workshop will be held on Sunday, September 24 from 1 to 5pm, with formal try-outs on Sunday, October 1, also from 1 to 5, at Ebenezer Lutheran Church in Andersonville; sign up here and plan to attend both days. Formal experience and training aren't mandatory, but athletic ability is a requirement. Want to help raise funds for organizations like Test Positive Awareness Network and Lakeview Pantry without rustling your pom-poms? Email volunteerwithcsb@gmail.com to find out about other volunteering opportunities.
