Bunny, the Micro Bakery closing permanently

After a sudden closure last week with no word on when it would reopen, Chicagoist reported that Bunny, the Micro Bakery is closing permanently.

The announcement was sent through email to Kickstarter backers from chef and owner Iliana Regan, citing financial difficulty. "I have tried in every way I could possibly think of to make this endeavor work," Regan said in the statement. "It looks like there is no positive long-term solution for me or my team."

No announcements have been made on Facebook, although the name of the page has changed to "Bunny Bakery and Workshop," and the website simply states "Closed."

We're going to miss the bakery treats from Bunny, especially the whiskey glazed doughnuts and biscuits and gravy. We hope to see more from Bunny in the future (maybe at Elizabeth?) and are still excited about Regan's other upcoming restaurant, Kitsune.
