Cirque du Soleil will tour a new show to Chicago this summer, marking the troupe's first appearance in the city since OVO in 2011. The new spectacle, KURIOS—Cabinet of Curiosities, premiered in Montreal last year; the show centers on a character known as the Seeker, who discovers a hidden world of activity inside his curio cabinet.

KURIOS is written and directed by Michel Laprise, who has designed a number of special-event performances for Cirque, in addition to directing Madonna's 2012 Super Bowl halftime show and her subsequent MDNA Tour. KURIOS will pitch its tent outside of the United Center beginning August 6; tickets go on sale March 30 to Cirque Club members and to the general public April 17 at cirquedusoleil.com/kurios.
