Important pizza news—Coalfire, which serves terrific blistered pizzas, is opening its second location on Southport (3705-3707 N Southport Ave) on July 30.
Owner Dave Bonomi said he's still finalizing the menu (fingers crossed that the amazing 'nduja pie makes the trip), but the space is nearly twice the size of the Grand location, with a full bar and a second coal oven. He's also planning a sidewalk patio.
This is the latest opening on Southport Corridor that's helping elevate the dining and drinking options on the street. Corridor Brewery & Provisions, a new spot from the DryHop Brewers team, is slated to open in a couple months.
