The Goodman Theatre announced they’re holding young performer open auditions for this year’s production of A Christmas Carol. No, “young performer” does not mean “I’m 28 but could still play a high schooler on a CW show.” They’re looking for actors ages 5–17 to fill the roles of Tiny Tim, Emily Cratchit, Belinda Cratchit and Turkey Boy. The young actors will be playing opposite Chicago heavyweight actor Larry Yando as Ebenezer Scrooge.

Auditions will entail reciting a one-minute memorized poem or monologue, then singing one verse of a Christmas song a cappella. Sound stupidly adorable to you? Just watch this b-roll from previous years’ auditions. Warning: Get ready to tear up a little bit.

So if the stellar tween actors in Stranger Things are any inspiration, bring your kids down to the Goodman for their chance at holiday stardom. Auditions take place on August 27 between 9am and 2pm. No prior experience is required, but bring a headshot and come prepared.

Tickets to A Christmas Carol ($25–$102) go on sale to the general public on August 12.
