Euan Morton has been announced to play the title role in the touring production of Hedwig and the Angry Inch when the show arrives in Chicago in March. Hannah Corneau, who has been seen in the Chicago area as Eva Peron in Marriott Theatre’s Evita and Fantine in Paramount Theatre’s Les Misérables, will make her national tour debut as Hedwig’s long-suffering sidekick Yitzhak.

John Cameron Mitchell and Stephen Trask’s cult rock musical, about “internationally ignored song stylist” Hedwig Robinson and her journey from being a young boy in Germany to a glam lady rocker in middle America, hit the mainstream with Michael Mayer’s 2014 Broadway revival, which starred Neil Patrick Harris and, later, Michael C. Hall, Andrew Rannells, Darren Criss and Taye Diggs. Criss opened the national tour last week in San Francisco, with Tony winner Lena Hall reprising her role as Yitzhak. They'll also play the Los Angeles engagement next month, with Morton and Corneau taking over starting November 29 in San Diego.

Morton is no stranger to roles of ambiguous sexuality; he earned a Tony nomination in 2004 for his Broadway debut playing Boy George in the musical Taboo. Hedwig and the Angry Inch will play Broadway in Chicago’s Oriental Theatre, March 7–19.
