The Goodman Theatre has completed casting for this summer’s production of Eugene O’Neill’s sole comedy, Ah, Wilderness!, in which a young man gets a taste of adult highs and lows over the course of the Fourth of July in 1906.

At the play’s center, as 17-year-old Richard Miller, is Niall Cunningham of the television series Life in Pieces, making his Goodman debut. His parents, Nat and Essie, will be played by Randall Newsome and Ora Jones; Richard’s siblings, Arthur, Mildred and Tommy, will be played by Travis Knight, Rochelle Therrien and Matthew Abraham.

Richard’s love interest, Muriel McComber, will be played by Aysette Muñoz, with Ricardo Gutierrez as her father, David. Kate Fry will play Lily Miller, Nat’s sister; Larry Bates is Sid Davis, Essie’s brother and Lily’s former fiancé.

Rounding out the cast are Will Allan as Arthur’s friend Wint Selby, Amanda Drinkall as a prostitute and Bri Sudia as the Miller family’s maid, with Joe Dempsey and Bret Tuomi completing the ensemble. Steve Scott’s production will feature design work by Todd Rosenthal (set), Amy Clark (costumes), Aaron Spivey (lighting) and Richard Woodbury (sound). Ah, Wilderness! runs June 17 to July 23.
