An enormous mansion on Lake Shore Drive made a huge splash in the Chicago real estate market this week when it listed for $17 million. If it sells at that price, it will tie the penthouse space on the 89th floor of the Trump Tower as the most expensive residential sale in Chicago history. It's currently the second most expensive home for sale in the city—a Burling Street mansion is back on the market for $18.75 million after a contract with prospective buyers couldn't close after two months.

The four-story, 12,000-square-foot home was built in 1916 and is a part of the Seven Houses on Lake Shore Drive District, an official Chicago Landmark. It also comes with a 2,400-square-foot coach house that alone would be the envy of most Chicago homebuyers.

The mansion has way, way more than any single family could ever utilize. There are 10 bedrooms, 3.5 bathrooms and nine fireplaces. It's maintained its early 20th-century look with a set of marble staircases, stained glass windows, stone walls and herringbone hardwood floors. If the interior design goal of this place was to make it look like the Clue house, then its architects did a bang up job.
