The Broadway musical If/Then, by Pulitzer Prize winners Brian Yorkey and Tom Kitt (Next to Normal), today announced casting for the leg of its national tour that includes a two-week stint in Chicago.

Jackie Burns, previously seen in Chicago as Elphaba in a touring company of Wicked in 2010, will play the leading role of Elizabeth, who the musical follows down two divergent life paths. Burns served as the standby for star Idina Menzel in If/Then's Broadway production. Joliet native Anthony Rapp (Rent) will reprise his Broadway role as Elizabeth's friend Lucas. The two other major roles will be played by American Idol alumna Tamyra Gray and Matthew Hydzik. Other cast members include Janine DiVita, Daren A. Herbert, Marc de la Cruz, English Bernhardt, Charissa Bertels, Xavier Cano, Trey Ellett, Kyra Faith, Corey Greenan, Cliffton Hall, Deedee Magno Hall, Tyler McGee, Joseph Morales, Emily Rogers and Alicia Taylor Tomasko.

The four original Broadway leads, Menzel, Rapp, James Snyder and LaChanze, are currently performing the first 14 weeks of the show's tour, mostly on the West Coast. Only Rapp will have continued on by the time the production reaches Broadway in Chicago's Oriental Theatre, February 23–March 6. Tickets for the Chicago run go on sale next Friday, December 18.
