The Forest Park Blue Line stop will benefit from a $23 million renovation, which will be the largest renovation since it opened more than 50 years ago, according to the CTA. You probably know the Blue Line stop as the one with the ridiculously long walkways to get on to the train's level. It's the third busiest station on the Forest Park branch.

The renovations will begin in September and are set to be completed by late 2017, including improvements to the entrances, a complete rebuild to the station house on Ogden Avenue, new security cameras, an elevator, bus and train tracker displays and upgrades to the platform canopy. In an earlier press release, CTA announced that the Illinois Medical District Station would also be one of the stations to display public art, so the upgraded station will also be a place to stare at something pleasant when your train is inevitably delayed.
