The Interview Show, the monthly live talk show that Mark Bazer has hosted at the Hideout since 2008, normally takes the early-evening slot on the first Friday of the month. But the October edition, which is being taped for WTTW (where The Interview Show made its televised debut last spring), is taking the prime time slot on Thursday, October 6 and making the most of it.
Bazer's guests on Thursday will include filmmaker Joe Swanberg, whose Chicago-centric Netflix show Easy was released in September, as well as another local Netflix star, Joe “Steve from Stranger Things” Keery. Also on the lineup are fiction author Jen Lancaster (By the Numbers, Bitter Is the New Black) and scientific historian Tania Munz (author of The Dancing Bees: Karl von Frisch and the Discovery of the Honeybee Language). Musicians Frank Catalano and Jimmy Chamberlin will sit for an interview and play a full jazz set after the show. This month’s show starts at 7:45pm; tickets are $15.
