Mumford & Sons play Montrose Beach on June 17

Hey, did you see that dummy who got his Beemer stuck in the sand at the beach this weekend? If not, here he is, just really dug in there:

Anyway, if he's still entrenched, he might want to just chill a couple months, live inside that fine German interior, and wait for Mumford & Sons to come to the shores of Lake Michigan. This morning, the Mumfords announced a Chicago date in its summer tour. They will play Montrose Beach, Huey Lewis's favorite local venue, on June 17. Tickets are $65. The stopover is a midway point between a headlining set at Bonnaroo and their own Gentlemen of the Road fest in Waverly, Iowa, one of our top regional music festivals for a road trip this summer.

The erstwhile folk band has gone electric, and as the quartet proved this weekend on SNL, the new rocky stuff sounds a lot of Coldplay and Kings of Leon. Those bands do pretty well for themselves, so we're guessing this isn't career suicide. But they might want to ask Kings of Leon for tips on getting seagull poop out of a motorcycle jacket.
