The original Playboy Mansion recently went on the auction block and it boasts a hefty price tag—$5.75 million, according to Crain's.

Well, not the whole thing, but one of the four condos inside. The Gold Coast condo, located 1340 N State Parkway, is home to Marlene Iglitzen, the widow of celebrated film critic Gene Siskel, and spans half a floor. That half-floor is spacious though. The apartment is 4,300 square feet in total and has four bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms. It sits on the third level.

To state the obvious, it's quite impressive even by Gold Coast standards. The living room has a lovingly-detailed fireplace, from the wrought iron grate to the white columns that stand on either side. A long formal dining room leads to the kitchen, furnished with white marble counters, matching cabinets and high-end stainless steel appliances. Exposed beams add a nice touch to the ceiling. A family room, also with a fireplace, creates an ambiance reminiscent of a parlor. Again, the effect of the room is heightened (literally) with a Soffit ceiling which opens up the room.

All the bedrooms are huge and the master bath has a porcelain tub wrapped in reflective steel.

The outdoor spaces are just as luxurious. An expertly-manicured brick courtyard is home to lush plants and even a tree. Rounding out the plentiful offerings is a deck with a wood-slatted privacy fence. If you're tall enough, you may even have a view.

The condo is part of the original 70-room Playboy mansion, built in 1899 in classical French style. Hugh Hefner bought the mansion in 1959, six years after he founded Playboy. Hefner moved to the now-famous Los Angeles Playboy mansion in 1974 and sold the Chicago original soon after. For a time it was a collection of dorms for the School of the Art Institute, and in 1993 it was gutted and split up into four ultra-luxury condos.
