The familiar red and white umbrellas are off to the side now, and Parson's Chicken & Fish has brought back its ice skating rink for the second year. It's a little different this year though—since the weather didn't cooperate when Parson's flooded its back patio last year, the restaurant is trying out a synthetic rink, which stays skate-ready whether it's below freezing or a 45-degree day in January (we can dream, right?)

To celebrate the rink's opening, Parson's is throwing a party on Saturday from 2–6pm, with hot cider and drink specials to warm up after a spin around the rink—and with snow in the forecast, you'll need it. Bring your own skates or rent some for a $5 suggested donation to Big Brother Big Sisters. After Saturday, the rink will be open Monday–Friday from 5–10pm and Saturday and Sunday from noon–10pm.
