Petition demands CTA to change its stroller policy

An online petition is looking to change the policies applied to stroller-bearing CTA riders. Currently, the elderly, pregnant women, and people with disabilities receive priority for seats over passengers with strollers. The online movement aims to bring an end to this heinous discrimination.

Citing safety issues for children, slowing of transit and the "creation of a hostile environment for caregivers," the petition calls for the CTA to give the same priority to riders with strollers as is given to the elderly and disabled. This will include designated stroller areas, signage and sanctioning young children to remain in their strollers during their rides.

Strollers are undoubtedly a major pain to lug onto the CTA, but providing priority seating for elderly, pregnant, and disabled people is required by law.
