Chicago's own Shannon Cochran will play Fraulein Schneider in the 2016 national tour of the 2014 Broadway remount of the 1998 revival of the 1966 musical Cabaret, the Roundabout Theatre Company announced today. Cochran, whose recent credits include The Little Foxes at the Goodman Theatre and Dance of Death and A Little Night Music at Writers Theatre, is a two-time Jeff Award winner (out of 11 nominations).

Others in the touring cast include Randy Harrison, best known for TV's Queer as Folk, as the emcee, and Andrea Goss as Sally Bowles, having understudied her role in the recent Broadway production. Alison Ewing will portray Fraulein Kost, with Mark Nelson as Herr Schultz, Ned Noyes as Ernst Ludwig and Lee Aaron Rosen as Cliff Bradshaw.

Also in the cast of the Kander and Ebb classic will be Kelsey Beckert, Sarah Bishop, Margaret Dudasik, Hillary Ekwall, Lori Eure, Aisling Halpin, Leeds Hill, Andrew Hubacher, Joey Khoury, Tommy McDowell, Evan D. Siegel, Dani Spieler and Steven Wenslawski. The tour begins in Providence, Rhode Island, on January 26; Chicago is the third date on its itinerary, arriving at the newly renamed PrivateBank Theatre February 9–21. Tickets for the Chicago engagement go on sale tomorrow, Friday, December 11, via Broadway in Chicago.
