Tomorrow marks 20 years, or 80 seasons of love, since the hit musical Rent had its first performance Off Broadway at New York Theatre Workshop. The show quickly transferred to Broadway, winning four Tony Awards and the Pulitzer Prize for Drama, getting its unknown young stars on the covers of magazines like Newsweek and (ahem) Time Out New York, and putting out a cast recording that earned it the devotion of young fans across the country. It was truly the Hamilton of its day, a generational smash that today would've launched a thousand Tumblrs.

Sidetrack is marking the passage of 10,512,000 minutes with a special Musical Mondays tonight, heavy on "La Vie Boheme" and promising some "Sidetrack surprises." Perhaps the newly announced cast of Theo Ubique's upcoming production will show up to perform? The fun starts at 8pm with no cover.
