The five best things to do this weekend in Chicago

1. Join the hunt

Easter egg hunts aren't just for kids when they're filled with food, drinks and music instead of plastic eggs with pastel M&M'S. Longman & Eagle's Easter party sends teams in search of eggs hidden throughout Logan Square for a chance to win prizes. Attendees can stick around for DJ sets as well as food from Black Dog Gelato and the Bus Stop. (Longman & Eagle, 2657 N Kedzie Avenue, 11am, $5 per person and $10 per team)

2. Get a beer and a history lesson

This year the Field Museum is home to the Chicago Beer Festival where beer lovers can enjoy music, food and a number of the museum's exhibits. Guests will receive 40 taste vouchers which they can redeem for seasonal beer samples from more than 70 breweries. (Field Museum, 1400 S Lake Shore Dr, 7pm, $50-$60)

3. Laugh it off

Trevor Noah, host of The Daily Show, brings his stand-up comedy to Chicago. Expect the material to hew closely to the South African comedian's recent stand-up special on Comedy Central, which explored his unique global perspective on American culture. (Chicago Theatre, 175 N State St, Sat 7pm and 10pm, $35-$55)

4. Listen to super-musicians

See the Grammy-winning ensemble Eighth Blackbird perform pieces from its most recent album, Filament. The American contemporary music sextet is based in Chicago and is in the midst of a year-long residency at the Museum of Contemporary Art. (Museum of Contemporary Art Theater, 220 E Chicago Ave, Fri-Sat 7:30pm, $10-$30)

5. Roll into the theater

Get your fix of family drama at the world premiere of Rolling directed by Nate Silver. This play, inspired by recent events, will captivate you with explosive emotions and hypersensitive reactions. (Broadway Armory Park, 5917 N Broadway, Fri-Sat 8pm, Sun 3pm, $5-$20)
