1. Kick off street festival season

Head towards the giant tent in Lakeview for tons live music and delicious food at Mayfest. In the beer garden guests will be able to snack on pretzels, grab a beer and stroll in the sun. (3100 N Ashland Ave, Fri 5pm, Sat-Sun 10am. $10)

2. Taste all the sour beers

There’s nothing better than sipping on a sour beer on a hot summer day, especially during Chicago Craft Beer Week. There will be plenty to enjoy at Delilah’s Sour Beer Fest where patrons will get 20 tasting tickets for $20. (Delilah’s, 2772 N Lincoln Ave, Sat 12-5pm. $20)

3. See a little shop of horrors

This theatrical revival of Little Shop of Horrors, about a nerd, a dame and a man-eating plant, will have you howling with laughter. Jonathan Berry directs this cult classic doo-wop musical. (Greenhouse Theater Center, 2257 N Lincoln Ave, Fri 7:30 Sat 3pm, 7:30pm Sun 2:30pm. $19-$49)

4. Overload on craft beer

For the next week craft beer events will be taking over the city. The annual Beerfly Alleyfight at Haymarket, Beer Prom at Burnt City, yoga and tastings at Begyle are just some of the things to look forward to. Find the Chicago Craft Beer Week schedule here and our list of the best events here.

5. Drink up

For those who don't like beer, the Lincoln Park Wine Fest has got you covered. Sample more than 100 wines from all over the world while enjoying the weather. (Jonquil Park, 1023 W Wrightwood Ave, Sat-Sun 1pm. $50-$75)
