Nothing lasts forever, businesses close. That's just a fact of life of living in the city. We recently reminisced about local spots that are gone but not forgotten, and that list continues to grow this fall. First there was Hot Doug's, which a decade ago left Roscoe Village for Avondale. Now Roscoe Village is set to lose another iconic hangout, the Hungry Brain. Not only is the Brain a cozy bar, it's one of Chicago's key jazz clubs, having hosted Umbrella Music's Sunday weekly Transmission Series for years. According to DNAinfo, the Hungry Brain will keep things going until December 15. No reason has been given for the closure.
These are just like the others: Hot Doug's, Club Foot, Hungry Brain. It's been an amazing 17 + 3/4 yrs. We have you to thank. We'll miss you
