The New Colony is the newest resident company at the increasingly vital Den Theatre, it was announced today. The company will stage its three-show season in the Den's upstairs mainstage space, joining the Hypocrites and Irish Theatre of Chicago as residents at the Wicker Park venue.

The first New Colony show at the Den will be Plastic Revolution, a new reworking of the company's 2009 Tupperware: An American Musical Fable. The musical look at the 1950s birth of a housewife-empowering kitchen-storage phenomenon has a book by Will Cavedo and Andrew Hobgood, music by Julie Nichols and lyrics by Hobgood. Evan Linder will direct a cast to include Joshua R. Bartlett, Sarah Bockel, Daeshawna Cook, Nikki Klix, Sasha Smith, Danny Taylor and Cassie Thompson. Plastic Revolution will run January 16–February 22.
