Celebrate Oktoberfest, kind of

What’s better than celebrating Oktoberfest? Celebrating Oktoberfest when it’s warm out, of course. Bring your finest Lederhosen and throw back lagers at Lincoln Square’s summertime German fest. (Lincoln Square, Lincoln and Leland Aves, Fri 5–10pm, Sat, Sun noon–10pm. Free)

Laugh with some of Chicago’s best comics

The 26th Annual Comedy Festival continues on this weekend, with experimental comedy shows, a performance from the ClickHole writers and special star-studded after-shows. Check out our picks for the fest here(Various venues, see site for full schedule. Prices vary)

Pick up your new favorite piece of art

Browse the works of over 200 artists at the 57th Street Art Fair in Hyde Park. The fest also features pop-up talks from artists and an artists-at-work area. (57th Street btwn Kenwood and Kimbark Aves, Sat 11am–7pm, Sun 10am–5pm. Free)

Ring in summer with a street fest

Wicker Park transforms into one giant street fest this weekend with Do Division, the neighborhood’s summer kick-off. With two stages, a wide selection of local vendors and family-friendly activities, there’s something for everyone. (Division St btwn Damen Ave and Wood St, Fri 5–10pm, Sat, Sun noon–10pm. $5)

Catch some premiere Icelandic rock

Sigur Ros is taking the reverse millennial vacation, coming to the U.S. from Iceland, to tour new work (and possibly tease a new album). Catch this stripped-down version of the grandiose Icelandic trio at the Auditorium Theatre. (Auditorium Theatre, 50 E Congress Pkwy, Sat 8pm. $123 and up)

See a magazine come to life

Pop-Up Magazine brings its spring “issue” to the Harris Theatre, with performances from writers, artists, filmmakers and more creators. Nothing goes online after the performance—the only way to experience Pop-Up Magazine is by seeing it live. (Harris Theater, 205 E Randolph St, Sat 7:30pm. $25)

See rock legends perform

Maybe you didn’t love having U2’s 2015 record auto-dropped onto your iTunes library, but don’t let that overshadow the Irish group’s incredible past work. U2 is touring The Joshua Tree for the game-changing record’s 30th anniversary, and a few tickets are still available. (Soldier Field, 1410 S Museum Campus Dr, Sat, Sun 7pm. $95 and up)
