1. Chill out at a concert

José González, a Swedish folk artist, will make you fall in love with his layered lyrics and subdued melodies. Backed by the contemporary string ensemble yMusic, expect to hear selections from his entire catalog, including his latest, Vestiges & Claws. (Rockefeller Memorial Chapel at University of Chicago, 5850 S Woodlawn Ave, 7pm, $30-$40)

2. Show some love for chocolate

To celebrate its 11th anniversary Mindy's Hot Chocolate is hosting a dinner prepared by chefs such as Lee Wolen (Boka) and Justin Carlisle (Ardent, Umami Moto, SURG). A cocktail hour kicks off this all-star event, with specialty botanic beers from Forbidden Root Brewery and Rare Tea Cellars. (Mindy's Hot Chocolate, 1747 N Damen Ave, 6:30pm, $150)

3. Go back in time

The late-night movie series at Logan Square Theatre takes on a geeky sci-fi theme in honor of  last weekend's C2E2 convention. Tonight, there's a screening of time travel comedy Hot Tub Time Machine. (Logan Square Theatre, 2646 N Milwaukee Ave, 11pm, $8.50)
