The three best things to do this weekend in Chicago

1. Bask in the glory of great tunes at Pitchfork

Pitchfork Music Festival is celebrating its 10th year in Union Park with a stellar lineup—so good that we've named it the best music festival of the summer. Tickets are sold out, but if you can find a way to score some from a secondhand seller then you're in line for a weekend of great tunes. Chicago's own Wilco and Chance the Rapper are headlining the weekend, but other acts like Panda Bear, Mac DeMarco and Run the Jewels should all draw big crowds. (Union Park, 1501 W Randolph St, Friday 3:30-10pm, Sat & Sun noon-10pm.)

2. Get your disco-funk on at Double Door

Soul Summit, a monthly DJ set featuring dusty grooves and soul that makes you dance, is going to bring the house down at Double Door on Saturday. If you've never been, this is a great opportunity to dance like you've never danced before. Get there early to avoid the long line. (Double Door, 1572 N Milwaukee Ave, Saturday, 9pm. Free)

3. Head to Chinatown for a unique festival

The annual Chinatown Summer Fair is always a hoot. Celebrate Chinese culture with food, art and music from the Far East. Take in the Lion Dance Procession, or maybe even participate in a classical Chinese dance class. Men will be able to take part in a "hot legs" contest while young attendees can participate in the "cutest baby" competition. (Wentworth Ave and Cermak Rd, Sunday, 10am. Free)
