1. Watch the original live forecast

Head over to Woodstock to see the traditional Groundhog Day celebration depicted in the 1993 Bill Murray film of the same name. The Chicago suburb's (where Groundhog Day was filmed) has it's own groundhog named Woodstock Willie, who leaves his burrow and predicts if we'll experience an extended winter or an early spring. (Woodstock Square in Woodstock, 7:07am. Free)

2. Eat like royalty

Enjoy Chicago Restaurant Week and fill up on some of the best dishes in the city while you still have the chance! Today is the penultimate day to take advantage of these city-wide specials offered by more than 350 restaurants in Chicago. (Various locations, times and prices)

3. Laugh the night away

When it comes to improv, you'll be hard-pressed to find better a duo with better chemistry than local stalwarts Susan Messing and Blaine Swen, whose long-running iO Theater show Blessing has been a late night comedy fixture for quite some time. (iO Harold Cabaret, 1501 N Kingsbury St, 8:30pm. $5)
