1. Put a little spring in your step

Spring hasn't yet sprung, but it sure feels like it. Celebrate the sunnier days and brighter surroundings at the Chicago Flower & Garden Show at Navy Pier, which features floral displays, manicured gardens and plants you can bring home. (Navy Pier, Festival Hall, 600 E Grand Ave, 10am. $17, kids ages 5–12 $5)

2. Take care

Electronic duo Matmos heads over to Thalia Hall to play songs off the latest album Ultimate Care II, named for the Whirlpool washing machine that provided all of the sounds sampled throughout the record. (Thalia Hall, 1807 S Allport St, 9pm. $15, balcony $20)

3. Build with bricks

The new hands-on Lego exhibit at the Museum of Science and Industry invites builders of all ages to exercise their imaginations and enjoy some impressive feats with the world's favorite mock-masonry toys. “Brick by Brick” explores architectural principles and famous structures in real life and popular culture. (Museum of Science and Industry, 5700 S Lake Shore Dr, 9:30am. $27–$45, children $18–$32)
