1. Rage at a punk rock show

Sheer Mag comes back to the Empty Bottle for more rock-and-roll madness. Performing with Laffing Gas and Mama, these gritty bands will fulfill your punk rock dreams. (Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western Ave, 9pm. $10)

2. See a heart-wrenching play

Watch a bookstore owner and a young writer develop a surprising and revealing friendship. In the play, after all the terrible things i do, Colin Sphar and Lisa Tejero give detailed, raw performances. (Theater Wit, 1229 W Belmont Ave, 7:30pm. $20–$35)

3. Laugh your pants off

If you get a kick out of "embarrassing stories of failed restraint and bodily blunders," then this live monthly storytelling show and weekly "poodcast" is for you. The hosts started the show in 2012 out of their love for embarrassing stories, and it's only gotten better from there. (Township, 2202 N California St, 8pm. $5–$10)
