1. Catch a concert

Local folk rockers Whitney and Charlie Hilton open for Wild Nothing, who will perform songs from his latest album, Life of Pause. (Thalia Hall, 1807 S Allport St, 9:30pm. $15–$20)

2. Question things

A thought-provoking exhibition displays unfinished artwork and polarizing installations by artists such as Kevin Beasley, Goutam Ghosh and Martha Wilson. See if you can examine the world as these artists did. (Renaissance Society, 5811 S Ellis Ave, 10am. Free)

3. Head to an indie movie

Landmark Century screens indie films all the time, but on the first Tuesday of the month, you can catch an independent Midwestern film. The recent addition of a full bar next to the concession stand means you can leave your flask at home. (Landmark’s Century Centre Cinema, 2828 N Clark St, 7:30pm. $10–$15)
