1. Go to an open mic

Conquer your fears at Public House Theatre’s weekly open mic, Get Up, Stand Up. Guests will get to see a mix of newbies and a selection of featured comedians. (The Public House Theatre, 3914 N Clark St, 9:30pm. Free)

2. Use your music knowledge

Foundations of Music is hosting its annual Music Trivia Showdown fundraiser at Empty Bottle. Finally put that encyclopedic musical knowledge to use and compete for concert tickets, albums and others prizes. (Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western Ave, 7pm. $15, $50 team of 4)

3. See unusual art

In the late ‘60s and ‘70s, you could find Lee Godie selling her drawings and photographs on the steps of the Art Institute. This posthumous exhibition features more than 50 of her signature photo booth self-portraits, which she drew over with paint, ink and even crayons. (Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outsider Art, 756 N Milwaukee Ave, 11am. $5 suggested donation)
