1. See daring photos

The Women of Vision exhibit features photographs and interviews with 11 female photographers who traveled the world for National Geographic. Visitors will get to see their work up close and check out stories from everywhere from war zones to tattoo parlors. (The Field Museum, 1400 S Lake Shore Dr, 9am–5pm. $30–$35)

2. Party in an alley

The Chicago Loop Alliance is throwing a party in a downtown alley with local artists, DJs and crazy surprises. The theme this month is smell, so expect ‘scent-scapes’, flower temples, Chakra balancing paintings and other ‘smell zones.’ (Hard Rock Alley, 230 N Garland Ct, 5pm. Free)

3. Jam out at the zoo

Join the lions and gorillas of Lincoln Park Zoo for a little music on the patio. This Thursday, hear local musician Luke Mueller and enjoy drinks or bites at Café Brauer. (Lincoln Park Zoo, 2021 N Stockton Dr, 5:30pm. Free)
