1. See 1930s America

The exhibition, America after the Fall, features 50 works by some of the nation’s most iconic painters—including Edward Hopper, Georgia O’Keeffe and Grant Wood. Take a peek into the minds of these Depression-era artists. (Art Institute of Chicago, 111 S Michigan Ave, 10:30am, $16–$35)

2. Enjoy Shakespeare in the Park

A mobile theater will tour 19 parks in Chicago this summer performing the Twelfth Night. Tonight you’ll be able to see them at Ridge Park—don’t be the guy who forgot his lawn chair. (Ridge Park, 9625 S Longwood Dr, 6:30pm. Free)

3. Spend an evening outside

Squeeze in some fresh air now before it gets too hot. Jazzin’ at the Shedd continues tonight with sunset drinks, fireworks and a live jazz band. (Shedd Aquarium, 1200 S Lake Shore Dr, 5pm. $20)
