1. Cheer on Team USA

No TV? No problem. Head to NEWCITY, where they’ve converted the courtyard into an Olympics viewing theater. Bring some friends and support our Olympic swimmers. (NEWCITY, 1457 N Halsted St, 7–11pm. Free)

 2. Laugh with Chicago’s finest improvisers

Head to iO Chicago to watch this experienced cast perform the Armando, a classic improvisation form. The audience gives a suggestion, a cast member tells a story based on that suggestion, and the cast improvises based on that story. (iO Chicago, 1501 N Kingsbury St, 8pm. $12)

 3. Wander through a whimsical world

Head out to the Morton Arboretum for “Ribbit! The Exhibit" and explore a collection of 20-plus large copper frogs. You’ll see frogs doing everything from playing instruments to catching butterflies. (Morton Arboretum, 4100 Illinois Rte 53 in Lisle, 7am–sunset. Free)
