The three best things to do today in Chicago

1. Blow off adulthood

Relive the highs and lows as musician Ezra Furman straps you back into that emotional roller coaster. The Evanston native performs at Lincoln Hall tonight following his third solo release, Perpetual Motion People, capturing the joys and pains of pre-adulthood so perfectly. (Lincoln Hall, 2424 N Lincoln Ave, 8pm. $14)

2. Ogle these sculpted bods

If you haven’t seen The Art Institute’s “Charles Ray: Sculpture 1997–2014,” you’re missing out. Comprised of nudes—some more nude and realistic than others—shining silver statues and a full-scale crushed car (to name a few), this collection of Chicago sculptor Charles Ray’s white and silver works are beautiful in their simplicity and jarring in their frankness. (The Art Institute, 111 S Michigan Ave, 10:30am–5pm. $14 and up)

3. Get some sketch advice

Live from Chicago, it’s Tuesday night! Catch a collection of advice-offering sketches pulled from The Second City’s half a century old archive at Life Hacks. Sketch out a brand new, totally improved you, or just let the pros provide a nice midweek laugh. (Second City, UP Comedy Club, 230 W North Ave, 8pm. $26–$36)
