1.Dumpster dive

Spend time exploring the Museum of Contemporary Art, where Faheem Majeed presents his first solo exhibition in the MCA Works series, which highlights Chicago artists. Majeed takes discarded objects like scrap metal and old billboards and transforms them into large-scale works of art and installations. Scrap the usual plans and see something extraordinary today from one of Chicago’s own. (Museum of Contemporary Art, 220 E Chicago Ave, 10am-8pm. $12 suggested admission)

2. Win a meatball-eating contest

Indulge in Italian cuisine and culture in UIC’s Festa Italiana, where you can play bocce ball, stomp grapes or put your competitive eating skills to the test. Come hungry! (Taylor St and Ashland Ave, 1582 W Taylor St, 5pm. $5 suggested donation)

3. See a sexy, empowering show

Sex and body positivity meet burlesque in this steamy celebration of women. The Inconvenience’s annual Fly Honey Show burlesque show returns to the Chopin Theatre’s stage tonight to entertain audiences with a raucous show. (Chopin Theatre, 1543 W Division St, $20-$80. 10pm)
