1. Bask in the glory of Prince

This week’s installment of the Millennium Park Film Series is Purple Rain (1984), starring, of course, Prince. It'll make you miss him, so bring the Kleenex. (Millennium Park, 55 N Michigan Ave, 6:30pm. Free)

2. Watch a multimedia artist at work

“Visible From Space,” Paul Catanese’s current exposition, uses a helium-filled blimp to capture images of his gigantic sculptures. Swing by to see the artist at work right in front of you. (Chicago Cultural Center, 78 E Washington St, 8am-7pm. Free)

3. Laugh with Chicago’s best comics

Chicago Underground Comedy, the weekly stand-up comedy show at Beat Kitchen, showcases the city’s funniest up-and-coming comedians. This week’s lineup is not to be missed. (Beat Kitchen, 2100 W Belmont Ave, 9:30pm. $5)
