1. Admire game-changing art

Intuit always strives to showcase work typically marginalized by the mainstream art community. Their current exhibition, “Post Black Folk Art in America 1930-1980-2016” does just that, and is not to be missed. (Intuit: The Center for Intuitive and Outside Art, 756 N Milwaukee Ave, 11am–6pm. Price included in museum admission)

2. Get an exclusive look at a new documentary

Catch a special screening of Nowhere to Run, which explores the effects of climate change on Nigeria’s political and socio-economic climates. A Q&A with the director and a reception will follow the screening. (MCA, 220 E Chicago Ave, 5:30pm. Free, registration required)

3. Laugh with local stand-ups

This weekly stand-up comedy showcase’s name says it all. “Comedians You Should Know” highlights local comedians who are definitely going places. (Timothy O’Toole’s, 622 N Fairbanks Ct, 9pm. $10, advance $5)
