The three best things to do today in Chicago

1. Unmask the grape god

Visit the Art Institute for the new exhibit “Dionysos Unmasked: Ancient Sculpture and Early Prints” to explore how Renaissance and Baroque printmakers were inspired by classical sculpture, focusing on the god of wine and theater. (Art Institute of Chicago, 111 S Michigan Ave, 10:30am-5pm. Included in regular admission $14-$25)

2. Enjoy free stoner pop

Get to know the fuzz-out pop sound of Colleen Green. The self-described "stoned songwriter" performs at one of our favorite music venues along with Milwaukee’s jangling indie rock Jaill opening. (Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western Ave, 9pm. Free)

3. Get a double dose of noir

Lovers of film noir are really lucky to live in Chicago this week. Both the Gene Siskel Film Center and Music Box square off with film noir screenings, but tonight, the Music Box-hosted Noir City Chicago is the place to be with back-to-back screenings of noir classics. Showings begin at 4:30pm with Ride the Pink Horse, The Fallen Sparrow at 7pm and, at 9:15pm, Ride the Pink Horse again, in case you missed it. (Music Box Theatre, 3733 N Southport Ave. $12)
