1. Kick off Oktoberfest under the Calder

Get your Oktoberfestivities going with one of the city’s favorite beer guzzling, German food munching events. Berghoff's Oktoberfest takes over Federal Plaza for the 30th year today and will be offering up Bavarian fare, German brews and traditional music plus some retro cover bands. Can’t make it today? The fest runs through Friday with a special 6pm keg tapping tomorrow night. (Federal Plaza, 50 W Adams St, 11am. Free)

2. Get moved by millennials

See world premiere dance works that make up Joffrey Ballet’s Millennials at the Auditorium Theatre. These dance performances features work of young choreographers Myles Thatcher, Annabelle Lopez Ochoa and Christopher Wheeldon presenting emotional, abstract and dynamic shows you won’t want to miss. (Auditorium Theatre, 50 E Congress Pkwy, 7:30pm. $32–$155)

3. Take a very bizarre tour

Get to know the weird side of Bucktown on a one of a kind guided tour. Bizarre Bucktown takes small groups on a 90-minute walking tour that digs into the hidden history of ghosts, unexplained mysteries and occurrences that shed new light on the Bohemian neighborhood. (Walsh Park, 1722 N Ashland Ave, 6pm. $15)
