1. Become a cider buff

North Center’s new cider bar, The Northman, offers classes on all things cider. Class tickets include a flight of four ciders, a limited-edition cider and light snacks. (The Northman, 4337 N Lincoln Ave, 7pm. $30)

2. Catch your favorite indie darlings

Los Angeles band Local Natives are playing The Riv tonight with R&B singer-songwriter Charlotte Day Wilson. They’re touring for their new album, Sunlit Youth, which incorporates more of an electro-synth sound. (The Riviera Theatre, 4746 N Racine Ave, 8pm. $27.50)

3. Take a nature walk…well, sort of

Take a grown-up trip to the Peggy Notabaert Nature Museum during its monthly party, Nature on Tap. Drinking a glass of wine while surrounded by hundreds of butterflies sounds like absolute heaven. (Peggy Notabaert Nature Museum, 2430 N Cannon Dr, 6pm-9pm. $5 members, $12 general)
