1. Invite introspection at a low-key concert

Come to Lincoln Hall to hear the talented Canadian singer-songwriter Patrick Watson and his band of the same name perform their intimate and ethereal indie folk ballads following their most recent album release, Love Songs for Robots. (Lincoln Hall, 2424 N Lincoln Ave, 8pm. $20)

2. Get your first taste of fall

Treat yourself to a seasonal wine accompanied by a feast at Ampersand Wine Bar’s Fall Wine Dinner. Be the first to taste highlights from the restaurant's new menu as a former sommelier at Charlie Trotter’s talks about his favorite picks. (Ampersand Wine Bar, 4845 N Damen Ave, 7:30pm. $65)

3. Vive la musicale Francaise!

Come to Pilsen’s Thalia Hall for a concert reading of La Revolution Francaise, the lesser-known musical by the guys who brought the world Les Miserables, French duo Alain Boublil and Claude-Michel. Northwestern's American Music Theatre Project and FWD Theatre Project present a newly revised and translated version with lyrics by Michael Mahler. So if you loved Les Mis, you can have one play more. (Thalia Hall, 1807 S Allport St, 7:30pm. $15)
