The three best things to do today in Chicago

Written by
Grace Perry

1. Kick back at a great LGBTQ party

Break out of the Boystown routine for Off Chances, the monthly queer party at Danny’s in Bucktown. It’s more of a beers and conversation vibe than a strobe light rave. (Danny’s Tavern, 1951 W Dickens Ave, 10pm. Free)

2. Uncover Chicago’s hidden history

Stroll through downtown on the Dead and Undead Walking Tour, where you’ll learn all about Chicago’s gangster past, and the ghosts that are still lingering. (LaSalle St and Wacker Dr, 150 W Wacker Dr, 8pm. $24)

3. See a show at an authentically Chicago venue

New York rockers Cymbals Eat Guitars return to Chicago to tour their latest album, Pretty Years. Head to the Empty Bottle to drink a few beers, play pool and listen to great new music. (Empty Bottle, 1035 N Western Ave, 9pm. $12)
