1. Get your freak on

It’s Horror Movie Madness all October at Logan Theatre, screening classic horror flicks each night to get us into the Halloween spirit. Tonight, stay out late for two of the best horror standards with your choice of Friday the 13th at 10:30pm and The Exorcist at 11pm. (Logan Theatre, 2646 N Milwaukee Ave, 10:30 & 11pm. $8.50)

2. Discover the Wright workspace

The last of Wright in the Region’s three full-day tours explores Frank Lloyd Wright’s innovations in the office. “Wright in the Modern Workplace” takes you into the S.C. Johnson Administration Building and into the newly opened Research Tower and exhibit featuring Wright’s Wasmuth Portfolio. The tour includes transportation and lunch so all you have to do is enjoy. (Trips depart from The Rookery, 209 S LaSalle St, 9am. $175, members $150)

3. Return to a favorite jazz standard

Nothing takes the edge off like savoring a well made cocktail in an intimate low-lit bar as a live jazz performance carries you away. Leave work at work at the Whistler’s weekly Relax Attack Jazz Series. Chicago musicians Artie Black and Jeff Swanson perform with their jazz group A Living Bridge tonight. (The Whistler, 2421 N Milwaukee Ave, 9:30pm. Free)
