1. Drink through the far, dark reaches of space

Once a month, Chicagoans of legal drinking age may enjoy their booze within the storied confines of the Adler Planetarium. Earn occurrence of Adler After Dark is different and this one celebrates Back to the Future's 30th anniversary, allowing museum patrons to stumble through the halls, catch a screening of Back to the Future II, try their hand at sci-fi trivia and compete in a Back to the Future costume contest. Drinks are provided by Empirical Brewery. (Adler Planetarium, 1300 S Lakeshore Dr, 6pm. $25)

2. Get strange with Miley Cyrus

Miley won't be playing the hits at this Riviera Theater show. Instead, she'll be singingoddball tunes from her latest album, Miley Cyrus and Her Dead Petz, which features the Flaming Lips as her backing band. Expect tender odes to her deceased goldfish and dogs, a great light show, glitter, Day-Glo and maybe even a few songs from Bangerz. If her increasingly bizarre Instagram is any indication, this show is going to be weird. (Riviera Theatre, 4746 N Racine Ave, 8pm. $69.69)

3. Laugh untll it hurts

This is the first of five Kyle Kinane shows happening at UP Comedy Club within the next three days. Each one promises to be equal parts brainy and unsophisticated with lots of vivid, loosely-connected stories so lewd that you probably wouldn't want to have your mom and dad in the same room. Try one of Kinane's Comedy Central bits before you go out on the town. (Up Comedy Club, 230 W North Ave, 8pm. $20)
